LET ME INTRODUCE

I’m Sarah Helzer

Sara Helzer, RN since 2005, IBCLC since 2019, Mother of 3 boys since 2007.

I graduated from the University of Manitoba, Canada, in 2005 and began a career which mainly focused on labour and delivery. I also helped Moms and families throughout their postpartum journeys.

In 2017, my husband's work brought us here, to the UAE. I started my journey in this country at Kanad Hospital in Al Ain. It was there that my real passion for breastfeeding began to blossom. As the unit manager of Women's Health, I recognized a gap in breastfeeding support within our community. This led me to taking the IBCLC course and opening a breastfeeding clinic at Kanad Hospital.

From there, I have been privileged to help hundreds of new Mom’s and families overcome their breastfeeding challenges.

I'm not going to lie. Breastfeeding can be challenging, and I joke with friends that this is why I have a job. Having 3 kids of my own, and overcoming personal breastfeeding challenges, has given me experience which I draw upon to support other Mummies on their journeys with their newborns.

The Middle East is very transient, and most new mothers have less family support than they would have had in their home countries. My goal is to offer that support to Mums and their families, supporting them with their feeding goals, whether exclusively breastfeeding, pumping or mixed feeding.

I’m here for you!
